Edwin George Stauss

Edwin George Stauss, 92, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 14, 2026, at Teton Healthcare of Cascadia.

Edwin was born November 25, 1933, in Dayton, Ohio, to Edwin Rudolph Stauss and Eleanor Jeanette Wagner Stauss. He attended Purdue University where he earned his Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering.

On June 25, 1960, he married Jane Ellen Stransky in Los Angeles, California. Edwin and Jane made their home in Los Angeles where Edwin worked as an Electrical Engineer for Hughes Aircraft Co. He had worked as an editor for Rail Classics Magazine and was an editor and owner of Bus World Magazine.

He was a member of the Episcopal Church, Boy Scouts of America, Friends of Taxco, San Fernando Valley Jazz Club, the Santa Monica Trails Council, and the Motion Picture Television Fund. He enjoyed hiking, square dancing, and bird watching.

Edwin is survived by his wife, Jane Stauss of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Jean Auble of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Karen Hollinger of Kailua-Kona, HI; and 4 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Eleanor Stauss; uncle, Robert Stauss; and aunt, Hilda Stauss.

Private family services will be held.
