Edward Willis Hann, a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, respected business leader, and lifelong sports enthusiast, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, in Southaven, Mississippi, at the age of 93. Born on April 10, 1932, in Plainfield, New Jersey, Edward lived a life defined by dedication, integrity, and a commitment to doing things well.
After serving his country as an Army Engineer stationed in Germany during the Korean War, he returned home and built a long and successful career in banking, retiring as Senior Vice President of Ocean First in New Jersey. He also gave generously of his time to his community, serving on the Board of Brick Hospital.
Edward was the loving husband of the late Carol Hann and a devoted father to his son, Don Hann of Senatobia, Mississippi. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Melissa; his grandchildren Nikki, Thomas, Brian, Kristi, Terry, and Kaitlyn; and his nine great-grandchildren, all of whom will cherish his memory. He was predeceased by his daughter, Wendy, and his stepson, Artie. He is also survived by his sister, Carol, as well as his nephew Clint and niece Lauren, who will fondly remember the time they shared together.
Outside of work and family, Edward enjoyed golf, travel, and spending time on Jekyll Island. A devoted Rutgers sports fan, he followed both basketball and baseball closely and remained a lifelong Dodgers fan, his loyalty dating back to the team’s years in Brooklyn. He spent most of his life in the Toms River and Brick areas of New Jersey. Edward will be remembered for his steady presence, kindness, and strength, and he will be greatly missed by his family and all whose lives he touched.
