Edward William Ryder

Edward William Ryder, 83, of Edgewater, Maryland, passed away on March 4, 2026 after a brief illness. A Vietnam War veteran, Edward served four years in the Army and earned numerous recognitions for his service. He remained deeply committed to his fellow veterans as a life member of VFW Post 304 and a member of American Legion Post 226.

He found great joy in simple pleasures, especially time spent with his grandson, playing chess, and taking peaceful nature hikes in the mountains. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Anna Ryder, and his son, James Ryder.

He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Jeana Ryder; his daughter, Becca Ryder (Steve); his grandson, William “Wolfie” Wilder; his step-daughter, Patty Napier (Kevin); his step-granddaughter, Megan Stanton (Stephen); his step-grandson, Kevin Napier Jr. (Jackie); and his step-great-grandsons, Stephen Stanton III, Brandon Stanton, and Kevin Napier III.
