Edward William

Edward "Butch" William was born on September 4, 1950, in Lafayette, Louisiana, to Angelle Levine and Lawrence Williams. He passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, at Lafayette General Medical Hospital at the age of 75.

One of eight siblings, Butch grew up alongside Lena, Gustavia, Hilda, Doris, Curley, Emma, and Felton "Lou Tee." He spent much of his working life as a truck driver before later becoming a security guard at Borden's. He held a deep love for music and found his greatest joy in the company of his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Maryann Bernard William; his daughters, Keesha Williams and Jessica Williams; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Curley, his sisters Gustavia and Lena, and his grandson Cailin.

Butch will be remembered for his steadfast dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and the quiet love he shared with those closest to him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
