Edward W. "Ed" Wing

DeForest, WI

Edward W. “Mr. Ed” Wing, age 87, of DeForest, passed away on March 6, 2026. Born on February 18, 1939 in Madison, Wisconsin, to Lester and Dorothy (Brown) Wing, he grew up with a strong sense of duty and quiet determination. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era, then earned his CPA license and built a long career in accounting. He worked at Smith and Gestland, spent time at Wisconsin Cheeseman, and finished his professional life in several financial roles at Telephone and Data Systems (TDS) before retiring.

Mr. Ed was known for his steady kindness and generous spirit. He devoted many hours as a volunteer with Operation Fresh Start, helping others find new beginnings. He found joy in simple pleasures—playing cribbage with family and friends, cheering for Wisconsin Badger basketball, and traveling with his beloved wife, Susan.

He is survived by his children, Jim Wing and Jane (Don) Harrison; grandchildren Jared and Jordan Wing, and Henry and Walter Harrison; two great-granddaughters; his brother, Bob (Judy) Wing; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan (Hahn) Wing; his parents; his brother, Terry Wing; and his sister-in-law, Jackie Wing.
