June 25, 1942 March 4, 2026

Brookhaven, PA

Edward V. Zgleszewski, Jr., 83, of Brookhaven, passed away peacefully at his home on March 4, 2026. Born and raised in Chester, he graduated from St. James High School in 1960 and earned a degree in mechanical engineering from PMC in 1964. He married the love of his life, Dolores, in 1965. The couple lived for many years in Aston before settling in Brookhaven and spending their final year together in Glen Mills.

Ed served as a fire protection engineer for the Navy for 35 years, retiring in 2004. In retirement, he obtained his real estate license and worked in that field for several years. Earlier in life, he was deeply involved with Our Lady of Charity Church, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Serra Club. He found great pleasure in boating and fishing, maintaining his large saltwater aquariums, and cooking. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, Edward, Sr. and Jennie.

Ed is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Dolores (née Windisch); his children, Susan Raughley (Dean), Steve Zgleszewski (Ryan Gosser), Timothy Zgleszewski (Mauri), Edward Zgleszewski (Agata), and Sharon Zgleszewski; his siblings, Jim Zgleszewski, Michael Zgleszewski, and Barbara Blissick; his grandchildren, Alyssa Raughley (Brandon Smith), Meredith Raughley, Finean Zgleszewski, and Oliver Zgleszewski; and his great-grandchildren, Winona and Freya Smith.
