Zgleszewski, Jr., 83, passed away peacefully at his home on March 4, 2026. Born and raised in Chester, he was a graduate of St. James High School, class of '60 and went on to graduate from PMC in 1964 with a mechanical engineering degree. He married the love of his life, Dolores, in 1965. They spent many years living in Aston before moving to Brookhaven. They spent the last year in Glen Mills.Ed was a fire protection engineer for the Navy for 35 years before his retirement in 2004. During his retirement, he got his Real Estate license and enjoyed working in that business for a few years.In his earlier years, he was an extremely active member of Our Lady of Charity Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Serra Club. He enjoyed the water, both boating and fishing, and found joy in taking care of his large saltwater aquariums. He also really enjoyed cooking. Above all else, he found the most happiness in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.He was predeceased by his parents Edward, Sr. and Jennie.Ed is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years Dolores (nee Windisch); his loving children Susan Raughley (Dean), Steve Zgleszewski (Ryan Gosser), Timothy Zgleszewski (Mauri), Edward Zgleszewski (Agata), and Sharon Zgleszewski; siblings Jim Zgleszewski, Michael Zgleszewski, and Barbara Blissick; his grandchildren Alyssa Raughley (Brandon Smith), Meredith Raughley, Finean Zgleszewski, and Oliver Zgleszewski; and his great grandchildren Winona and Freya Smith.Funeral service Wednesday (March 11, 2026) 12pm at the Bateman-Allen Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave,. Brookhaven, PA, 19015 with a viewing beginning at 11am. Burial SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
