Edward R. Villareal

April 10, 1943 – March 7, 2026

Edward R. Villareal, age 83, passed away on March 7, 2026, in Aurora, Colorado. He was born on April 10, 1943, in Utah to Edward and Concepcion Villareal.

Edward was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mae Villareal, and his son, Darren Villareal.

He is survived by his loving family, including his son Daniel L. Martinez (Andrea); his grandchildren Nichole (Jason), Nathan Martinez, and Noah Martinez; and his cherished great-grandchildren Sheleigh, Ellie, and Kenna.

He is also survived by his siblings Fred Villareal (Ruth), Bea, Delores, Marty, and Juanita.

Edward attended West High School and later worked in Electronic Engineering. He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army and the Colorado Air National Guard.

Ed had a deep love for music and spent many years playing in his band. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and cooking. His homemade salsa was legendary and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of tasting it.

He especially loved watching his granddaughters participate in their activities and treasured every moment spent with his family. Above all, his greatest love was his wife, Mae.

Ed was known for his big heart, warm personality, and great sense of humor. He never missed a chance to ask about the next meal, as he truly loved good food and sweets. Many also knew that his second favorite pastime was gambling with his good friend Al Rios.

Ed had a gift for making friends wherever he went. He lived life fully, cherished the people around him, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Love is stronger than sorrow and deeper than time.

Love is forever.
