Edward R. Eck

Edward Russell Eck, 86, formerly of West Alexandria, passed away at Vancrest of Eaton Health Care Center on March 11, 2026, after a prolonged period of illness. Born in Dayton on February 29, 1940, to Henry and Virginia (Watson) Eck, Eddie spent his working years as a meat cutter for several local grocery stores.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished his family above all. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his loving wife of 55 years, Linda J. Eck.

Eddie is survived by his three children, Jeffrey (Dawn) Eck, Tammy Melling, and Mark (Kristin) Eck; his grandchildren, Max Eck, Cassey (Tony) Kedian, Tanner (Katie) Eck, Michael (Erika) Melling, Tiffany (Brad) Newkirk, Whitney Melling, Lauren (Andrew) Nickoli, and Natalee Eck; his five great-grandchildren, Makayla, Lilly, Liam and Lorelai Newkirk, and Luan Kedian; and his brother, Fred (Robin) Eck of Eaton. The family is grateful for the dedicated care he received at Vancrest of Eaton over the past 18 months.
