Edward “Ed” King, 66, of North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, surrounded by loved ones at his sister’s home after a long battle with cancer. Born in Raleigh, he was the son of the late Edward “Paul” King and Sarah Juanelle Brewer King.

Ed was known for his remarkable generosity and kindness. His selfless spirit and deep desire to serve others left a lasting impression on everyone he met. A dedicated businessman who poured his heart into his cooking, he took great pride in preparing good Southern food. He cherished his family and friends, loved the UNC Tar Heels, and was beloved for his heartwarming whistle and infectious smile.

He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Rebecca Barwick (Jeremy) of Angier; son, Edward “Paul” King of Selma; sisters, Bonnie Wheeler (Sammy) of Dunn and Sara King (Mike Beahn) of Apex; brother, Linwood King (Laura) of Holly Springs; grandchildren, Caroline Barwick, Olivia Barwick, Ryker King, and Adelynn King; and many nieces and nephews he held dear.

Ed now rests whole and renewed in the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ.
