Edward J. Fitzwilliam Jr. lived a long and faithful life marked by deep conviction, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to his family and faith. A resident of Hingham for 55 years, Ed passed away on March 10, 2026 at the age of 92 after battling Alzheimer’s disease. Guided by compassion, humility, and a steady moral compass, he treated others with kindness and patience, allowing his faith to shape his every interaction.

He worked diligently throughout his life to provide for the family he cherished. Together with his beloved wife, Donna, his partner of 66 years, he created a home rooted in responsibility, love, and the celebration of family. Their enduring partnership provided a strong foundation for their six children, sixteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Ed believed in doing the right thing without seeking recognition. His steadfast character, profound benevolence, and deep goodness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him, serving as a quiet yet powerful example of integrity and care for others. He is remembered with gratitude by all whose lives he touched.
