May 8, 1944— March 9, 2026
King Copsico, VA
Edward Harrison Grove III, age 81, passed away peacefully at his home on March 9, 2026. A true Southern gentleman, Edward was a man of quiet strength, integrity, and steadfast devotion. He lived a life defined by the deep roots he planted and the family he so dearly loved.
Born in Winchester, Virginia, on May 8, 1944, Edward was the beloved son of the late Edward Harrison Grove and Janet Rockwell Grove. A proud double alumnus of the University of Richmond, he earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration while participating in the Army ROTC program, then continued at his alma mater to receive his Juris Doctor. Following law school, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Driven by a deep love for his country, he served with distinction for three years during the Vietnam War, including a one-year tour as a Judge Advocate General officer. He attained the rank of Captain before his honorable discharge.
Upon returning home, Edward settled in Northern Virginia and began a long and respected legal career. Over the next four decades, he rose to become managing partner of the firm where he had started, a practice that would proudly bear his name through his retirement and beyond. In his later years, he found his greatest peace at his home in King Copsico, Virginia, a place he cherished as his own paradise.
Edward is survived by his devoted wife, Callie, with whom he shared his life, his home, and his heart. He was a proud and loving father to his children: eldest son Charles Grove and his wife Fay; son Edward Harrison Grove IV and his wife Elisa; daughter Sarah Grove; daughter Schuyler Saylor; daughter Cameron Gordon and her husband Kaleb; and son Kaleb Huffman. Known affectionately as “Granddaddy,” he leaves behind cherished grandchildren Nina, LJ, Atlas, Jackson, Madelyn, Brandon, Holly, and Rowyn. He is also survived by his dear sister, Vickie Grove, and her husband, David Fair, as well as his nephew Tyler Fair, niece Brittany Fair and her husband Dustin Grossheim, and great-nephews Owen, Luke, and Winston. Edward leaves behind a legacy of service, kindness, and a large, loving family that will hold his memory dear forever.
