Edward Earl Peek

August 9, 1949 March 13, 2026

Asheville, NC

Edward Earl Peek, a devoted family man, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2026, at his home in Leicester. Born on August 9, 1949, in Henderson County, he lived a life marked by steadfast faith, unwavering kindness, and deep love for his family.

A graduate of Erwin High School in 1968, Edward worked as a truck driver for Overnight and UPS for 40 years until his retirement in 2013. His strong work ethic and reliability defined his career. Faith was the cornerstone of his life. A cherished member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church for the past 25 years, he found spiritual fulfillment there, and his devotion to God guided his compassionate and giving nature.

Edward’s family was his greatest joy. He shared a profound love with his wife, Deborah Swann Peek, whom he married on December 20, 1968. Together they raised three children: Connie Rogers and her husband Johnny, Philip Peek and his wife Misty, and Tim Peek and his wife Belinda. He delighted in his grandchildren—Sherry Cromer and her wife Ashley, Jennifer Rogers and her fiancé Tony Lamb, Ryan Freeman and his wife Krista, Ethan Rogers, SSG, US Army, Sara Peek, Emily Peek, Taylor Peek, and Mason Peek—sharing with them a special bond and a child-like spirit. That joy extended to his great-grandchildren, Jacob, Tony, Jonah, Brian, Cody, Roman, Peyton, Waylon, and Nolan.

He is also survived by his sister, Brenda Hyatt, and her husband Frank, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members who treasured his kindness and generosity. He was preceded in death by his parents, TL Peek and Mary Sue King Peek, and his brother, Donald Peek.

Edward Earl Peek’s legacy of faith, family devotion, and heartfelt kindness leaves an enduring impression on all who knew him. His gentle spirit, infectious joy, and generous heart will be deeply missed but forever remembered with gratitude and love.
