Edward Allen Anderson

March 27, 1952 March 8, 2026

South Jordan, UT

Edward Allen Anderson, age 73, passed away on March 8, 2026, joining his beloved wife Leesa. He was born on March 27, 1952, to Blanche and Elden Anderson in Delta, Utah. Ed spent his first two years in Big Piney, Wyoming, before his family moved to Idaho and later settled in Garden City, Kansas, where he was raised with his three brothers.

As a boy, Ed participated in Cub Scouts and earned his Eagle Scout award in the Boy Scouts of America. In high school he played flag football and soccer, competed in the high jump, and worked alongside his father in the family farming business. After a year of community college, he served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lima, Peru. Upon returning, he attended Brigham Young University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and became a lifelong, devoted BYU football fan.

In 1983 he met the love of his life, Leesa. He proposed to her in the car on the way to Carl’s Jr. and they were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple later that November. Ed embraced Leesa’s two young children, later adopting them as his own. The couple made their home in South Jordan, Utah, where they lived for 41 years and built deep friendships in their ward. In 1986 their daughter was born, completing their family.

Ed possessed a profound love for the gospel and for everyone around him. Known as a baby and dog whisperer, he found great joy in service, especially after Leesa’s passing. He volunteered his time teaching English to refugees at the Columbus Education Center and remained active in indexing until his final days, often continuing from his laptop in bed. He offered a helping hand to others even when it became difficult, quietly setting an example for all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife Leesa. He is survived by his three children, Taralee (Steve), Adam, and Normandie (Andrew), eight grandchildren, Dalton, Devvin (Emily), Kaia, Kypris, Conner, Kaysha, Benny, and Kaisley, and his three brothers, John (Denise), David (Susan), and Paul (Tammy).
