Edward Onofreo March 9, 2026 With our hearts broken, we share with you the passing of Edward A. Onofreo, 70, of Wolcott, beloved husband of Karen (Parks) Onofreo, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, March 9th, at VITAS in St. Mary's Hospital. On August 16th, in the middle of the flood of '55, Ed was born in Waterbury, son of the late Edward and Josephine (Rubino) Onofreo. He graduated from Wilby High School in 1975 and retired from the Waterbury branch of UCONN, where he worked for over 30 years. Ed and Karen were married in 1985 and have lived in Wolcott for the last 40 years. In addition to his wife Karen, Ed leaves his two daughters, Erica Onofreo and her partner ,Jaylen Jones, Kristen Onofreo and her fiancé, Gavin Foley; his grandson, Jayden Jones; his sisters, Donna McCulloch, Doreen Lawson and her partner, Bill Murphy; his brother, Paul and his wife, Linda Onofreo; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ed was predeceased by his sister, Deborah Ciccio. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Eddie's life on Saturday, March 14th, at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., in Wolcott, with calling hours from 11 AM to 1 PM, followed by a memorial service beginning at 1 PM.
