Edna Lillian Dean

Edna Lillian Dean, of Republic, Missouri, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, at the age of 89, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 14, 1937, in Strafford, Missouri, to Carl and Lillie (Wheatly) Sneed, she grew up as one of eleven children. Edna graduated from Republic High School and, on September 4, 1957, married Paul Dean. Their marriage was blessed with three children: Brenda, Debra, and Alan.

Edna worked in the garment factory in Republic early in her career and later repaired circuit boards for Litton Industries. She was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan who loved watching baseball and NBA basketball on television. In her leisure time she enjoyed reading, watching westerns, completing puzzles, listening to music, and tending to her flower gardens.

She is survived by her husband, Paul; her children, Brenda McGarity, Debra Sater, and Alan Dean; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her brother John Dean; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Edna was preceded in death by her parents and nine siblings: Donald, Wanda, Evelyn, Lloyd, Phillip, Ted, Robert, Carl, and Barbara.
