Edmond Esco Harper was born on February 6, 1940, in Oak Grove, Louisiana, to Elvis and Zelma Harper. Raised in West Monroe, he served his country in the Navy for four years before making his home in Longview, Texas, where he worked for more than four decades at Southwest Steel Casting until his retirement.
A man who lived a steady and hardworking life, Edmond passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 7, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Troy Harper and Murray Harper, both of West Monroe.
He is survived by his daughter, LeSha and JL Smith of Greenbrier, Arkansas; his granddaughters, Nicole and Cameron Burroughs of Greenbrier, Alyssa Smith of Greenbrier, and Natalie Smith of Greenbrier; his sister-in-law, Anita Harper; two nieces; one nephew; and many friends.
