Edmond Campbell was born on December 25, 1936, in Reddick, Florida, to the late Prime “Pete” and Dorothea Campbell. He moved to Jacksonville at the age of ten, where he attended local schools and later acknowledged Jesus as his personal Savior.

In 1959, Edmond married Clara Julia Mills on July 23, beginning a union that would last more than six decades. He worked at Anheuser-Busch for twenty-eight years, retiring in 1997. Edmond found joy in hunting, outdoor activities, working on cars, and most of all, being surrounded by his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Cornelius Campbell. Edmond leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Clara Julia Campbell; his son, Stevie (Tonja) Campbell; his daughter, LaDeirdre Gail Shivers; granddaughters Ashley Forehand, LaDeirdre “Dee Dee” Forehand, Ebony (Tony) Shumake, Stephanie Campbell Murphy, Chintara Duggan, Chatera Duggan, and Rekkia (Alfonzo) Alberta; grandson Eric Duncan Jones Jr.; fifteen great-grandchildren, Tyree Bates, Tyrell Bates, Janiyla Johnson, Cassia Mayberry, Tony Goodman Jr., Tajae Goodman, Cheyenne Jourdain, Chandler Wells, Taylor Murphy, Nasir Shumake, Jah’Niyah Johnson, Kayden Jordan, Zoey Alberta, Alfonza Alberta III, and Tamera Murphy; one great-great-granddaughter, Melani Bates; brother Denard Smith; sister Mary Smith; special cousin Preston Baker; sisters-in-law Mae Francis Kirkland, Christine Davis, and Erma Jean Kohn; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
