Edith Tamblyn ObituaryVisit the Hartson Funeral Home - Hales Corners website to view the full obituary.Edith Rose Tamblyn (Edie), age 82, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her son Joseph (Tamblyn), daughter Erica (Meyer) and son-in-law Doug (Meyer). She is further survived by her grandchildren Peter, Katie, Anna, Maddy and Will. She was preceded in death by her parents Sophie and Ambrose (Cybulski), brother Claude (Cybulski), her beloved daughter-in-law Mary and her husband of 56 years, David B Tamblyn.

Edie loved crafting and often worked on several projects at a time. She especially loved quilting, knitting & beading, and she made several quilts for family members. She loved her family fiercely and spent as much time as she could with them, cooking many of the family meals. Edie would organize annual Thanksgiving Day Hearts Turkey Tournaments and would bring a special stash of "fabulous prizes" for everyone including the last place person. She and Dave began attending Milwaukee Admirals ice hockey games in the early 70's, and this became a family tradition spanning decades. Over the years her love of hockey spread to her grandchildren who played youth hockey. Edie was also a faithful Packers and Badgers fan, and would listen and/or watch any opportunity she would get. Additionally, she was a fulltime journalist/reporter for the Waukesha Freeman and WUWM-NPR. There she had the occasion to interview special people such as one of the Supreme Court Justices and a Prime Minister. Her quest for news, weather reports and knowledge was never ending. She won many rounds of board games with her comprehensive trivia knowledge. Edie was loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed.

There will be a private service held at St. Mary Catholic Faith Community in Hales Corners on Friday March 13, 2026.Read The Full ObituaryTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
