She was the beloved partner of the late Elias Figueroa Perez, who predeceased her in 1996.Edith is survived by her devoted sons, Eugene and his wife Cindy, and Eric and his wife Maureen. She was a cherished MomMom to Eugene Mutt IV, Kyle Mutt and his wife Alex, Amber McKeever, Ashley Mutt and her wife Kelly, Amanda Sarber, and Alexis Mutt and her fiancé Louie Tallarico. She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Kyle, Lily, Leah, and Victoria.Born Edith Duvina Burgos Maldonado on April 12, 1943, she was the loving daughter of Epifanio Burgos Carrero and Arcadia Maldonado Ortiz. Edith was the dear sister of the late Epifanio Burgos, and is survived by her brothers Claudio, Melkuides, Orlando, Angel, and Benbenido Burgos, as well as her sister Maria Burgos.Edith was born in Salinas, Puerto Rico, where she thrived among the love and support of her parents, extended family, and a close-knit community. In 1959, Edith along with her younger brother and her mother, moved to Philadelphia, where she began to build her life. In 1969, she earned her cosmetology license and went on to work as a professional beautician for more than 30 years. In 1974, Edith moved to Nedro Ave in Olney, where she devoted herself to raising her two sons with unwavering love.She took great pride in operating her own beauty salon in Olney on Geneva Avenue in the late 1980s. Always striving to grow and share her talents, Edith later earned her teaching license and taught aspiring stylists while operating a training salon for Hair Cuttery.Edith's faith in God and her devotion to the Catholic Church, especially the parish of St. Helena's were cornerstones of her life, guiding her through challenges and blessing her with strength. She treasured the friendships she made throughout the years, especially with Alba and Frank, Sister Joan, and Sister Alice-friends who remained close to her heart. Edith found renewed love and joy in her relationship with Elias Perez, whose presence brought many happy years to her life.Above all, Edith loved spending time with her family, sharing hugs, kisses, and countless moments of warmth.Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Edith's life on Saturday, March 21, 2026, beginning at 8:30 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at the Church of St. Helena, 6161 N. 5th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19120.
