Eddie Kerwin Stevens, 78, of Blythewood, South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on March 13, 2026. Born on June 27, 1947, at Rogers Hospital in Loris, South Carolina, he was the oldest child of Charlie Grover Stevens, Jr. and Ethel Eloise Stevens.
A Vietnam veteran who served with the 1st Air Cavalry Infantry Division and earned the Combat Infantry Badge, Eddie was a man of quiet strength and steadfast faith. He remained a devoted member of Fairlawn United Methodist Church for many years. For more than four decades, he was the owner and operator of E. K. Stevens Construction, building a legacy of hard work and integrity.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jewell Holmes Stevens, and their son, Eddie Kerwin Stevens II, both of Blythewood; his sisters, Jeanie Peebles (Charles) and Judy Smith (Joe); and a special great-nephew, Brayden Stevens, who brought him years of great love and joy. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, all of whom he cherished.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Grover Stevens, Jr. and Ethel Eloise Stevens, and by his brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Theresa Stevens. Jewell and Eddie remain eternally grateful for the many years they shared with a loving husband and devoted father.
