Preserve forever →Ed Foster
May 6, 1947— March 9, 2026
Joelton, TN
Edward Prince Foster was born on May 6, 1947, and passed away on March 9, 2026. He grew up in Columbia, Tennessee, and later made his home on Green Acres Road in Joelton. Ed earned a BA in Marketing from Middle Tennessee State University, where he served on the Rifle Team for all four years and completed his ROTC training. He went on to serve in the United States Army as a Second Lieutenant.
Ed took great pride in a hard day’s work, whether tending his flowers and garden or during his 18 years of employment at Unarco. He approached everything he cared about with full commitment and attention, beginning with his family. He deeply loved his wife Linda, to whom he was devoted for 47 years, and his two sons, Brian and Keith. An avid hunter, he traveled across the country pursuing the sport. He also held a lifelong passion for baseball, collecting games, cards, and memorabilia, and often recounted the story of missing a Bo Jackson home run while taking a young Keith to the bathroom during a Chicago White Sox versus Milwaukee Brewers game in the early 1990s. In his later years, Ed spent many hours repairing broken toys and clocks for the Joelton Hope Center, enjoyed his daily cigar, and became an enthusiastic University of Alabama football fan, in part to gently tease his daughter-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Barnett and Ella Rhea Foster, and his uncle and aunt, Dolphus and Ann Foster. Ed is survived by his wife, Linda (Murphey) Foster; his sons, Brian Foster and Keith (Alison) Foster; his grandchildren, Caitlin and Collin Foster; and special friends John and Linda Adamson and Pat Biggs.
