Earnest Lee Hartly

Earnest Lee Hartley, 73, of Sandyville, West Virginia, passed away on March 6, 2026. Born on July 31, 1952, he was the son of the late Orville and Ruth Hartley.

He is survived by his daughters, Melissa Walker, Jessica Casto, and Michelle Walker; his sons, Justin Walker and Zachary Walker; his grandchildren, Paul Tenney II, Dalton Young, Tyler Casto, Jasmine Casto, and Chase Casto; and his great-granddaughter, Lilah Carpenter.

In addition to his parents, Earnest was preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Hartley, and his grandchildren, Joshua Casto and Timothy Casto.

Earnest will be remembered for his kind heart and his willingness to lend a helping hand to others. He was deeply passionate about caring for the neighborhood cats and cherished their companionship. Soft-spoken by nature, he rarely voiced strong opinions, yet he made his aversion to the color black well known.
