Earl James Monroe

Earl James Monroe, age 71, of Bridgeport, passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 11, 2026.

Earl was a devoted husband, brother, father, papa, uncle, and friend who cherished time with his family and found joy in life’s simple pleasures. On warm days he could often be found under his favorite tree, enjoying a cold Busch and sharing a “conversation” with his wife. A dedicated sports fan, he rarely missed a game involving his beloved Red Wings, Tigers, Lions, or Wolverines, always recording them to skip the commercials. Among his happiest moments were golfing with his son, relaxing in his cherished man cave, and taking spontaneous road trips with his wife.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Monroe; his children, Eric (Allison) Monroe, Vanessa (Matt) Smith, Myriah Dailey, and Evan Dailey; his closest grandchildren, Madison, Ethan, and Clara; his brother, Steve (Laverne) Monroe; and his sister, Cindy (Tom) Holcomb.

Earl will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
