Earl Chester Moore

Earl Chester Moore

Passed March 2, 2026

Acadia, ME

Earl Chester Moore, beloved husband, father, uncle, and friend, passed away on March 2, 2026.

A pirate, captain, and poet at heart, Earl loved life, laughter, jokes, and stories. Charismatic and charming, he was a great dancer and a natural entertainer who had a gift for turning ordinary moments into unforgettable ones. He made friends in every corner of the world and welcomed all into his home with open arms.

He is survived by his wife of more than fifty years, Elizabeth Gott, the love of his life. Together they shared countless adventures, many of them in the waters and wilds of Acadia National Park, which Earl considered a true sanctuary. The ocean was the music of his soul; he found both peace and exhilaration in sailing and motorboating, navigating through fog and storms, digging clams, hauling lobsters, and catching crabs. When he was not on the water, he could often be found rescuing and restoring old engines and vehicles, a passion that brought him hours of joy and left his yard full of possibility.

Earl’s greatest joys were his children from his first marriage to Paige Bruisie: Eric C. Moore, Melanie C. Moore, and Shaunessy, who passed at birth. He cherished Eric and Melanie deeply, taking immense pride in the lives they built and the people they became. He also leaves behind his beloved grandsons, Jordan M. Lecours and Tyler A. Lecours, as well as eight nieces and nephews who carry forward his spirit of adventure. He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers and sister, and his son Shaunessy.
