He was born on November 23, 1955, in Hettinger, North Dakota, to his loving parents William Ray Watson and Stella Mae (Baker) Watson.Dwight grew up in Bison, South Dakota, where he graduated from high school, and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from the University of South Dakota. He began his professional journey with Burroughs, gaining valuable experience that would carry him through a long and successful career. He later worked for Electronic Data Systems (EDS) / Hewlett Packard (HP) for over 20 years, where he was respected for his dedication, professionalism, and commitment, retiring in 2013.Dwight met the love of his life, Marci Maye Ridge, and on June 27, 1981, they celebrated their love and commitment to each other in Omaha, Nebraska. Their partnership was a central joy in his life, built on love, laughter, and shared memories.Outside of work and family, Dwight led a life full of passions. An avid golfer, he loved the camaraderie of the golf course and the challenge of a well-played game. He enjoyed playing poker and board games with friends and family, always ready with a laugh or clever strategy. A devoted sports fan, he delighted in following his favorite teams, sharing the highs and lows of each season with enthusiasm and good humor.Above all, Dwight treasured his family. He was a loving father to his two children, Matthew and Sarah, and a doting grandfather to his three grandchildren, Madison, William, and Elizabeth, who brought him endless joy. He cherished the time spent together-whether playing games, cheering on a sports match, or simply sharing stories and laughter. His warmth, humor, and zest for life touched everyone who knew him and left a lasting impression on his family and friends.Dwight is survived by his wife, Marci Maye Watson, of McKinney, Texas; son, Matthew Watson and wife, Taryn of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Sarah Pittman and husband, Dustin of Waco, Texas; grandchildren, Madison Watson, William Pittman, and Elizabeth Pittman; mother, Stella Watson of Rapid City, South Dakota; sisters, Debra Watson and Mark Blote, and Jocelyn Haskell and husband, David, all of Rapid City, South Dakota; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members and friends, who will miss him dearly and forever cherish his memory.Dwight was preceded in death by his father, William Ray Watson.A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The service will also be live streamed at the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location.
