Drew Timpson ObituaryPublished by Legacy on Mar. 5, 2026.Drew Spencer Timpson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed peacefully on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the age of 93, surrounded by her family. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Claron O. and Bertha Spencer, Drew lived a life marked by steady faith, service, and deep devotion to her family.Drew graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Elementary Education. She had a lifelong love of learning and teaching. During her college years, she prized her membership in the Alpha Chi Omega sorority, forming friendships and memories that stayed with her. She spent 2 summers working in Zion National Park, where her love for nature was deepened amid the beauty of Utah's red rock landscapes.Her faith was the foundation of her life. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Drew served faithfully in many callings, including Primary President and Relief Society President. She and her beloved husband, Richard, served a full-time mission together at the San Diego Temple Visitors' Center and the Mormon Battalion Historic Site. She also served for many years in the Salt Lake Temple. Her testimony of the Savior was strong and unwavering, and she endured to the end with grace and trust in the Lord. Her family finds peace in knowing she is reunited with her husband, parents, and countless loved ones on the other side of the veil.Drew was faithful, generous, humble, and kind. She was patient and wise, with a surprising sense of humor that delighted her family. Her kids and grandkids each felt like they had a personal connection with her.Drew spent many of her childhood summers at the Pines cabin, cementing her love of the mountains and establishing the custom of gathering family together every year to make memories. Her family will always remember the cabin as the center of many cherished family traditions and experiences.An avid reader, Drew was always ready to recommend a good book. She loved gardening, hiking, walking, and doing puzzles. She was talented in floral arranging and was a wonderful cook. She loved traveling with her husband Richard, whose service as a member of the Tabernacle Choir brought them many treasured experiences together.Her life was one of steady devotion - to her Savior, to her husband, and to her family. Her legacy of faith and love will continue to bless generations to come. She is survived by her children: Josh Timpson (Jacci), Carrie Neff (Steve), Susan Milne (Doug), Mathew Timpson (Misti), Sarah Howell (Kevin), and Eric Timpson (Sarah); 27 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild, and her brother Edward Spencer. Her posterity stands as a living testament to her faith, love, and lifelong example. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. Timpson; her parents and 3 siblings: Claron, Daniel, and Claudia.A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 10, from 9:30–10:45 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meetinghouse located at 6350 Rodeo Lane, Murray, Utah. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
