Dreeta Lanell Wallace
July 30, 1955— March 5, 2026
Marmaduke, AR
Dreeta Lanell Wallace passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Born on July 30, 1955, in Lake Providence, Louisiana, she was a cherished daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone around her.
The daughter of the late William Carl and Edna Cloise (Tucker) Massey, Dreeta grew up with her siblings, including her late sister Martha Sue Merriman, late sister Willodean Dukes, and late brother Douglas Earl Massey. She is survived by her brothers Jim and Susie Massey, Larry and Deborah Massey, Kenneth Massey, and Zane Massey, who will remember her as the sister who was always ready with a helping hand and a listening ear.
Dreeta shared a lifelong love with her husband, Carlos Eugene Wallace, who predeceased her. Together they raised two sons, Timothy Carl and Starla Wallace of Jonesboro and Brandon Scott Wallace of Marmaduke. She cherished her role as a mother and poured her wisdom and devotion into her family. Her joy continued to grow with her grandchildren, Shelby and Austin Slaven, Sarah and Zane McKemie, and Logan Wallace, and later with her six great-grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart. She had a deep affection for all children and delighted in every moment spent with her family.
An avid reader and puzzle enthusiast, Dreeta found quiet pleasure in these pursuits. She was also deeply committed to her community, particularly through her work at St. John Lutheran Church, where she helped with the Senior Meals program. She shared a long and loyal friendship with Debbie Eakins, filled with countless shared memories and mutual support. Dreeta will be remembered for her nurturing spirit, selfless nature, and the love she gave so freely to her family and friends.
