Wilbur Sine ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by McCulla Funeral Home on Mar. 17, 2026.We are deeply saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Dr. Wilbur Zinn Sine. Born on September 11, 1947, in the humble town of Hundred, WV, he lived a life of unparalleled dedication and service until his last day on March 16, 2026, in Morgantown, WV. Wilbur's life was rich in love, wisdom, and kindness, qualities he imparted on all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.Wilbur's early years were spent immersed in the close-knit community of Hundred, where he was born to loving parents, the late, Augustas Arnold and Della Josephine Sine, alongside his siblings, the late Lula Littell(Marvin), Donna Skaggs(Darrell), Linda Strum(Dallas), and Arnold Leroy. After graduating from Hundred High School in 1965 and advancing through Fairmont State College, he found his calling in medicine. Dr. Sine proudly graduated from WVU School of Medicine in 1973, where he was dual board certified in family practice and psychiatry, a testament to his brilliant mind and insatiable hunger for knowledge. He was not merely a physician. Dr. Sine was a healer, mentor, and friend. His early days of medical practice began in 1973 with Dr. Thomas Howes, leading to the eventual foundation of Wedgewood Family Practice. Wedgewood Family Practice began with one Physician with hopes of helping as many patients as he could; throughout the 35 years, Dr Sine owned and served as President of Wedgewood Family Practice, along with 27 physicians and providers. What began as a hope for one man, turned into the largest multi-specialty medical practice in the tri-state area. For 35 years, Dr. Sine's hands were those of comfort and care, not only in his practice but also in the broader community as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Behavioral Medicine and as an Industrial Medical Physician for GE Specialty Chemicals in Westover for 13 years. Dr. Sine was President of PIPAC, Preferred Integrated Provider Access Corporation from 1990-2014. His compassionate spirit extended beyond his retirement, during which he worked with Amedisys Hospice Care, reflecting his enduring commitment to improve the lives of those around him.Intelligent and infinitely curious, Wilbur relished in a variety of interests. He was a world traveler, not for leisure alone, but to serve - partaking in medical mission trips to Honduras and the Dominican Republic. His passion for photography captured moments of beauty and joy, while his love for gardening nurtured life in his own backyard. Yet, above all, his heart found its greatest joy in the time spent with family, especially his cherished grandchildren.Dr. Sine's legacy of love and wisdom lives on through his adored family: his wife, Judith Russell Sine; his children, Amanda Hankinson (Reed), Chad Sine (Sarah), and Ryan Sine; his precious grandchildren, Benjamin, Carson, Reagan, Lincoln, and August; as well as through his extended family of sisters, brother, and many nieces and nephews. Each of them have been graced by his life and continue to be inspired by his enduring light. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Dr. Wilbur Sine's memory to either: Malayaka House, at: https://malayakahouse.com/support-us/#donations or The Shack Neighborhood House, at: https://the-shack.org/civicrm/contribute/transact/?reset=1&id=1Family and friends are invited to gather in McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover, on Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 3-7 pm.
