Preserve forever →Dr. Patrick William McAndrews
July 20, 1959— March 1, 2026
Wheaton, IL
Dr. Patrick William McAndrews was born on July 20, 1959, to Jerome and Joan McAndrews. A curious and studious man throughout his life, Patrick was defined above all by his deep and abiding faith. His love for the Lord shaped his worldview and guided every aspect of his journey.
As a young man, Patrick worked a variety of jobs, including corn detasseling and caring for a woman in a coma. He graduated from North Scott High School, earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Iowa—where he came to faith—and followed a family legacy by completing his chiropractic studies at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, in the spring of 1989. He moved to Wheaton, Illinois, to join his father and stepmother in their practice, eventually taking over McAndrews Chiropractic Clinic and serving patients for nearly three decades. He sold the clinic in 2018 and continued his career at Advanced Health of Naperville until his retirement at age sixty-five in 2024. Even after retiring, he gladly offered his healing hands to family and friends in need.
Patrick was an affectionate and loving father who greeted each day with open arms, hugs, and the words “I love you.” He coached and cheered for his children in their athletic pursuits, joining them on prairie path runs, playing catcher in the driveway, and attending every practice, meet, and tournament he could—often in less-than-ideal weather. He frequently said that raising his children was one of God’s greatest gifts to him.
In 2018, Patrick married the love of his life, Vicki, and spent the last decade of his life cherishing every moment with her. He delighted in small daily acts of service, such as making her coffee each morning, and in leading their shared walk with Christ through prayer and devotion. A man with a servant’s heart and a gift for evangelism, he was deeply active at Chapel Street Church, participating in men’s and marriage ministries while continually seeking to grow in faith and share Christ’s love with others. He also enjoyed his retirement through the Aurora Sports Club, regular workouts at Delnor Health and Fitness Center, and home improvement projects with Vicki.
Patrick is survived by his wife, Vicki; his children, Virginia McAndrews, Matthew (Wendy) McAndrews, Michael McAndrews, Barbara (Christian) Klein, and Janna McAndrews; stepchildren Holly (Clayton) Lockwood and Sarah Straup; several grandchildren; his siblings Andria (Dan) Stolhand, Stacey (Phil) Paisley, Laura Dues, and Kathleen (Darren) McGee; and brother-in-law Steve Shuey. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Jennifer Shuey and Amy McAndrews.
He now rests in the presence of his Lord and Savior, worshiping in Heaven in a joy far greater than anything he knew on earth.
