Dr. Lawrence N. Rouff

Dr. Lawrence N. Rouff, 87, of Vestal, New York, passed away on March 11, 2026. Born on April 5, 1938, in Binghamton, New York, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Ada Rouff.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Lana K. Rouff of Vestal; his son, Dr. Peter A. Rouff of Buffalo; his daughter, Katie G. Ward, and her husband, Andrew Ward, of Rumson, New Jersey, along with their two daughters, Sophie and Ellie Ward; his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Gerald Rosenbaum of Buffalo; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Paula Gitlin of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Binghamton Central High School Class of 1956, Dr. Rouff earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Buffalo and his DDS from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. After serving as a Navy Dental Officer, he returned to the University of Pennsylvania for postgraduate orthodontic training. He practiced orthodontics locally for 40 years. A dedicated professional, he was a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists, and a member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He held life memberships in the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the New York State Dental Society. He served as president of the Sixth District Dental Society of the State of New York, the Broome County Dental Society, the Orthodontic Alumni Society of the University of Pennsylvania, and the Broome Community College Foundation. He also served on the advisory board and as supervising dentist in the Dental Hygiene Department at Broome Community College, and as a director of Chase Manhattan Bank in Binghamton. A longtime member of Vestal Hills Country Club, he cherished his family, his profession, and his many friends.
