Edward Ketusky ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Posey Funeral Directors - North Augusta on Mar. 5, 2026.Beech Island, SC – Funeral Services for Dr. Edward "Ed" Ketusky, Jr., 61, who passed away on March 3, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of intellectual excellence, steadfast dedication and a deep devotion to his family, will be conducted on Monday, March 9th at 2 o'clock at First Baptist Church North Augusta. Dr. Marty Baker officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.Ed was born on November 3, 1964, and raised in Girardville, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Thomas Ketusky Sr. and Jean Butts Ketusky, and by his brothers, Mark Ketusky and John Ketusky.Ed is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Kim; his sister, Gail; his sons, Jonathan (Molly) and Matthew; and his treasured grandsons, Leland and Sullivan. Becoming "Grandpa" was one of his greatest joys.Ed was a man of faith and a member of First Baptist Church of North Augusta. His faith was an important foundation to his life and guided the way he cared for his family and served others.Ed devoted more than 30 years to the field of chemical and nuclear engineering. He was a veteran and attended naval nuclear power school. He earned a Bachelor's of Science in Nuclear Engineering from Penn State University, a Master of Business Administration from City University of Seattle, a Master of Technology in Chemical Engineering from The University of South Africa, and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Lancaster University.Throughout his distinguished career, Ed served in key leadership roles, including a decade as a Fellow Engineer at Savannah River National Laboratory. Most recently, he served as a Senior Fellow with TechSource, providing vital support to Savannah River National Laboratory.Ed was also passionate about teaching the next generation. As an adjunct professor at the University of Nevada, Reno, he served as lead instructor for two courses.While his professional accomplishments were many, those who knew Ed best will remember more than his titles and degrees.
