Born in Boston, Massachusetts to Max and Elizabeth (Ectman) Feldberg on February 15th, 1929, Barbara was often praised for her combination of brains and good looks, and later attended Smith College and Wellesley College, graduating with honors. She survived her beloved late husband of 70 years, Burton Sidney Stern (d. April 16th, 2019). Together they raised four sons, Andrew (d.2021) (Jennifer) Stern, Dr. Matthew (Janet) Stern, Jonathan (Sabina) Stern, and Thomas (Denise) Stern. Barbara was a cherished grandmother of Melissa, Antony, Margot, Jeffrey, Jenna, Alec, Tessa, Samantha, and Tyler Stern, as well as great-grandmother of Lila Robinson. Dr. Stern held a PhD in Psychology and practiced for more than forty years. She had a reputation for empowering her patients to identify and realize their full potential. In her free time, Dr. Stern was a voracious reader, and enjoyed traveling, shopping, the company of her adored dogs, and visiting museums. She was a generous philanthropist to charitable organizations she held close to her heart. The family expresses its sincere appreciation to Dr. Stern's dedicated caregivers of many years. A private burial service will be held at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens in Boynton Beach, Florida.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
