Alex Dubin ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Epstein Memorial Chapel - Columbus on Mar. 10, 2026.Dr. Alex Dubin, a beloved husband, father, and brother, passed away peacefully on Sunday at the age of 84, surrounded by family.Born in Dayton, Ohio, Alex dedicated his life to caring for children and supporting families through his work as a pediatrician. After graduating from The Ohio State University Medical School in 1963, and a short time in Norfolk, Virginia as a Coast Guard Surgeon's Assistant, he moved to Toledo to establish his practice. Then in 1981 he moved to Columbus to do research at the Nisonger Center at The Ohio State University, and continue his practice serving the community with compassion and dedication for over 40 years.Throughout his career he formed lasting relationships with patients and mentored many young medical professionals. In a meaningful full-circle moment, one of his long-time patients worked on his same ICU floor and saw his name on the board and stopped to say hello. Alex will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the deep impact he had on the families he served in both his medical and child behavior practices.He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy, his father, Charles, and his brother, Tom. He will be deeply missed by his wife Sandi; children, Corey (Amy), Jenny (Josh), Amy (Jay), and Bonnie (Mike); grandchildren, Josh, Emily, Everest, Ari, and Daphne; extended family, friends, colleagues, and generations of grateful patients.A funeral service will be at 1:00pm, Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Epstein Memorial Chapel, 3232 E Main Street, Columbus (Zoom Link below).In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to: Special Olympics Gahanna and/or Nationwide Children's Hospital (Links below) with interment to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery - Temple Beth Shalom Section.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
