Dr. Douglas Holmes was born on February 26, 1943, in Watertown, New York, and passed away on March 8, 2026. Preceded in death by his parents, Douglas Snell Holmes and Dorothea Christina Yanhcke, he spent nearly thirty years serving the greater Albion community as a dedicated family physician.
A man of many passions and talents, Dr. Holmes was a farmer, a builder, a professional waterskier, a passionate windsurfer, and a hunter. Above all, he was a loving husband and father, and a true friend to many. Known for his endless supply of stories and his spontaneous German lessons, he brought warmth and wisdom to everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Shelagh, his daughters Jenna and Rebecca, and his sons Jesse and Aaron.
