It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Douglas Schmidt in Troy, Ohio, who passed away on March 5, 2026, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Douglas leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Schmidt and Dorothy Schmidt (Eilerman); and his daughter Amanda Etapa. He is survived by: his siblings, Bev Simon (Tom) and John Schmidt (Amy); his daughter Taylor; his son-in-law Eddie Etapa; and his siblings' children, Allyson Schmidt and Ryan Schmidt.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 18th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. (302 S Main Ave, Sidney, OH 45365).
