Douglas R. Waltenbaugh

Douglas Rex Waltenbaugh, of Irwin, passed away at his home on March 6, 2026. He was preceded in death by his wife, CarrieAnn Waltenbaugh, and his father, Melville Donald Waltenbaugh. Doug is survived by his devoted stepson, Ryan (Tonya Mogle) Griffin, and his cherished grandchildren, Brianna, Cara, and Declan. He is also survived by his mother, Carolyn Elaine Waltenbaugh; his brothers, Craig (Cathy) Waltenbaugh, Brad (Bonnie) Waltenbaugh, and Chris (Hope) Waltenbaugh; and his sister, Dawn (Dean) Sarver. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who loved him very much. Doug worked at ll Vl in Saxonburg until his retirement in 2021. He enjoyed growing plants and took great pride in his elaborate ornamental gardens. Doug was also very skilled at computer games and greatly enjoyed playing them. In his younger years, he was a talented painter and artist. Doug will be remembered for the joy he brought to others, especially through the beautiful Christmas displays he created each year at his home and the care he put into his gardens. His creativity and quiet passions will be fondly remembered by family, friends, and neighbors. A Celebration of Life will be held in Doug's memory at Kiski Unity Free Methodist Church, 29 Greenbriar Dr., Leechburg, PA 15656, on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Doug will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
