August 17, 1984— March 15, 2026
Willowick, OH
Douglas Meyer, known affectionately as both Doug and Randy, of Willowick, passed away unexpectedly on March 15, 2026, at the age of 41. Born on August 17, 1984, in Oklahoma City, he was a man of great strength and a devoted protector of his family. A creative soul with a generous heart, Doug left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Navy before becoming a proud member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local Union 2955. A gifted craftsman, Doug could build or fix nearly anything, and he took deep pride in providing for his loved ones through his skilled hands. He cherished the outdoors and, in recent years, discovered a passion for writing poetry that revealed the sensitive and thoughtful side of his character. Above all, he was a devoted family man whose greatest joy was the happiness of his wife and children. He was the person others could always count on, placing their needs before his own.
Doug is survived by his beloved wife of 10 years, Leza Meyer, and their cherished children, Adrian, Leigha, Madison, and Dustin. He is also survived by his father, Doug Meyer; his mother, Tammy Meyer (nee Baldwin); and his grandmother, Karenne Stannard. He leaves behind a loving extended family that includes his aunts Shirley Spraguer, Dawn Meyer, Sherry Phillips, Ryan Baldwin, and Jayme Baldwin; his uncle Robert Baldwin; his great-aunt Stephanie Wolf (Hal Arnst); and his father-in-law, Stephen Gruden. He will be deeply missed by many friends and union brothers who knew him as both Doug and Randy.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Janie Baldwin.
