Foxboro, WI
Douglas “Doobie” John Smith, 65, of Foxboro, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026.
Born in Duluth, Minnesota, on February 17, 1961, to Margaret and John James Smith, Doug attended Duluth Cathedral and Duluth Denfeld High School. He worked as a journeyman floor installer with Carpenters Local 361 until his retirement in 2022 and most recently at Menards.
Doug found joy in fishing, snowmobiling, hunting, grilling, and spending time at cabins. He cherished weekends away with his wife, spoiling his grandchildren, giving his boys a hard time, telling stories of the good old days, watching hockey and the Vikings, and sharing a beer with friends. Above all, he loved being surrounded by his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, John; his mother, Margaret; his nephew, Mark Ruthford; and his brother-in-law, Mike Ruthford. Doug is survived by his wife, Brenda; his daughter, Anna (Marcos) Colon; his sons, Paul (Ashley Dalbec) Hartel and John (Megan Moore) Smith; his grandchildren, Sophie, Noelle, and Aurelia Colon, and soon-to-be-born Baby Hartel; and his beloved dog, Rocco.
