Douglas Glenn Calvert, age 81, of Charleston, KY, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026 at Heart to Heart Hospice in Evansville, IN. Doug fractured his hip after a fall at his home on January 27, 2026. He had surgery to repair his hip and was working very hard in physical therapy. If anyone asked Doug how he was doing his reply was always, “I can’t complain!”

Doug was born on February 20, 1945 to the late Ozelmo and Texal Calvert. He was a member of the first graduating class at West Hopkins High School in 1963 and was a member at Lafayette Baptist Church.

He married the love of his life, Mary Jane Pike, and they enjoyed together the love of country living and horseback riding. Doug worked and retired as an electrician at General Electric Madisonville, KY. He loved to play the guitar and sing. Doug was a fun guy to be around and his family will miss him dearly.

Survivors include family members ~ Ann Lynn, John and Betty Pike, Sue and Anthony Poe and many nieces and nephews and a special friend and caregiver ~ Darren Hart.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife ~ Mary Jane Calvert (departed June 12, 2010); a sister ~ Norma Jean Jennings and brothers ~ Carl Calvert and Buddy Calvert.

Visitation for Douglas Glenn Calvert will be on Monday, March 16, 2026 from 11:00 AM until the 1:00 PM funeral hour at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY with Rev. Ralph Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY.
