Douglas Glenn Calvert

Douglas Glenn Calvert, age 81, of Charleston, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026 at Heart to Heart Hospice in Evansville, Indiana. Born on February 20, 1945 to the late Ozelmo and Texal Calvert, Doug graduated with the first class of West Hopkins High School in 1963 and was a longtime member of Lafayette Baptist Church.

He married the love of his life, Mary Jane Pike, and together they cherished country living and horseback riding. Doug worked as an electrician at General Electric in Madisonville, Kentucky, retiring after many years of service. He loved playing the guitar and singing, and those who knew him will remember his cheerful spirit and his steadfast reply of “I can’t complain!” no matter the circumstances. His family will miss his warm presence and good humor dearly.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Mary Jane Calvert, who passed on June 12, 2010; his sister, Norma Jean Jennings; and his brothers, Carl Calvert and Buddy Calvert.

He is survived by Ann Lynn, John and Betty Pike, Sue and Anthony Poe, many nieces and nephews, and his special friend and caregiver, Darren Hart.
