He spent much of his life in Michigan City, Indiana, where he built a reputation as a skilled and dedicated mason. His craftsmanship can be found in countless homes and buildings throughout the community, lasting reflections of his hard work and steady hands.

Doug lived a simple and honest life and found great joy in the outdoors. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman, often happiest when he was deep in the woods or out on the water. Those who knew him will remember his easygoing nature, quiet sense of humor, and deep loyalty to the people he loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gary Franklin and Phillis Marie Richards; and his son, Eric Cihak-Walters.

Doug is survived by his longtime companion, Bonnie C. Doug will be remembered for his strong work ethic, love of the outdoors, and the quiet strength he carried throughout his life. His presence will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Wells and Cruz Family Funeral Home of Mishawaka has been entrusted with his care.
