July 10, 1931— March 4, 2026
Stratham, NH
Dougald Cameron Sewall, Jr., known to all as Cameron, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, at the age of 94 with his loving wife by his side. Born on July 10, 1931, to Dougald C. Sewall and Mary (Chase) Sewall, he was one of three children. Cameron grew up working on his family’s orchard, where he developed a lifelong love for apples and the outdoors. In his free time, he enjoyed square dancing, and it was there that he met the love of his life, Joan H. Miller.
Cameron and Joan married on April 3, 1955, beginning a loving partnership that spanned more than seven decades. Together they raised four children and built a life centered on family, community, and the orchard that remained close to their hearts. Deeply rooted in their community, they devoted more than 50 years to 4-H, where Cameron led a tractor driving club and volunteered at the Stratham Fair, generously sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with young people and neighbors.
Those who knew Cameron will remember his quiet patience, steady work ethic, and profound love for nature and gardening. He was known for the fine apples and cider from Bunker Hill Orchards, yet even more for the kindness and dedication he showed to everyone around him. He cherished time with his family and took great pleasure in sharing the history of the area with anyone who asked.
He is survived by his wife Joan, their four children, nine grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Cameron will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
