Doug Spivey
April 5, 1961— March 5, 2026
Villa Rica, GA
Mr. William Douglas “Doug” Spivey, age 64, of Villa Rica, peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026. Born on April 5, 1961, in Stone Mountain, Georgia, Doug is preceded in death by his father, Milton Spivey.
Doug had a zest for life that was reflected in his many passions. He found joy in riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, where he made numerous friends along the way. A kind and gentle soul, he always thought of others and took pleasure in learning, often watching the History Channel, How It's Made, etc. Doug was a talented handyman who enjoyed repairing things around his secluded home, lovingly referred to as "Back o' the Moon.” He was an enthusiastic hot sauce lover, believing in the adage “the hotter, the better.” An animal lover at heart, Doug never turned his back on any lost, abandoned or abused dog, cat or horse. He loved the rides to the beach singing along with Jimmy Buffet and the cherished memories of fishing during his earlier years. Above all, Doug adored his family and was a dedicated “Pop” to his beloved grandchildren.
A faithful employee of United Parcel Service (UPS) right out of high school, Doug dedicated over twenty-two years of service to the company, eventually retiring as a Manager. He later contributed his expertise as a Supervisor for GLOCK.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of thirty six years, Cathy Spivey of Villa Rica; his step -daughters, Kelsey Wiley and her husband, Matt of Cumming and Stacey Geary and her fiancé, Evan Behm of Scottsdale, Arizona; his mother, Barbara Spivey of Loganville; his brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Kelly Spivey of Monroe; his sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Tommy Martin of Raleigh, North Carolina; and his grandchildren, Madilyn and Camden Wiley. Mr. Spivey is also survived by his nieces, nephews and a number of other relatives.
In accordance with Doug’s arrangements, he will be cremated.
The family plans to hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
