Dorothy Unchester

We are sad to announce that on March 5, 2026, at the age of 77, Dorothy Unchester of Mountainside, New Jersey, born in Rahway, New Jersey passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid Dorothy farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Dorothy is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Hagerty and Rose Hagerty. She is survived by: her husband John Unchester of Mountainside; her children, Tom and Sally; her daughter-in-law Brandi Brezina Unchester; her grandchildren, Bailey and Kelsey Unchester; Ann Unchester of Mountainside.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, March 28th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Higgins and Bonner Funeral Home (582 Springfield Ave, Westfield, NJ 07090). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 28th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Mountainside Elks Club (1193 US-22, Mountainside, NJ 07092).
