She was born May 11, 1933 in Norwood, Ohio, the daughter of Virgil, Sr. and Kizzie (Callaway) Handlon.Mrs. Roberts worked as a waitress at the Wagon Wheel and Little Town & Country restaurants in Bedford, The Blue Boar Restaurant in Louisville, and as a clerk at the Scott's Five and Dime Store in Madison, Indiana.She was a member of Bedford Christian Church and enjoyed shopping. She served God and anybody who visited her home.Her surviving family includes one daughter and son-in-law: Sandra and Philip Marshall of Sanders, Kentucky; one son and daughter-in-law: Johnnie and Charlene Roberts of LaGrange, Kentucky; two grandchildren: Glenn Roberts and his wife, Jessica of Tampa, Florida, and Katie Staubach and her husband, David of Owenton, Kentucky; four great grandchildren: Chloe Roberts, Adam Christian, Ethan Staubach and Ava Staubach; one nephew: Kip Whitaker; and friends and caregivers, Barbara Burkhart, Diane Melvin, Renee Nestor and Doug Stark.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Johnnie B. Roberts on September 29, 1996; one brother, Virgil "Buddy" Hanlon, Jr.; and two sisters, Doris Whitaker and Vivian Clement; and one nephew, Virgil Handlon, III.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
