Dorothy Pridgen Deans Wheeler

Dorothy Pridgen Deans Wheeler, 94, of Wilson, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2026.

A devoted mother and doting grandmother, Dorothy found deep joy in caring for her family and others. She was a woman of strong faith who loved the Lord and spent many years as a compassionate CNA, bringing comfort and kindness to those in her care.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda Spence (Alan) of Atlantic Beach, Connie Martinmianakis (Mark) of Wilson, and Cathy Knox (Ben) of Mocksville; nine grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husbands, Garland Thomas Deans in 1973 and Esley Wheeler in 2000; her parents, Connie and Alberta Owens Pridgen; her sisters, Faye Ward and Edna Boykin; and her brothers, Ronald and James Pridgen.
