Dorothy M. McLinskey, née Schulz, of Pearl River, New York, passed away on March 13, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on September 12, 1935, in Middle Village, Queens, she was the daughter of Eunice and Oscar Schulz. After graduating from the Flower Fifth Avenue Hospital School of Nursing at New York Medical College, Dorothy built a long and dedicated career as a Registered Nurse. She worked for many years at Elmwood Manor Nursing Home in Nanuet, retiring as Nurse Manager. Known for her compassion and quiet strength, she cared deeply for her patients and colleagues throughout her professional life.
Even after retirement, Dorothy remained committed to helping others. She volunteered regularly at the soup kitchen in Spring Valley, often arriving early in the morning to lend a hand. A longtime resident of Pearl River for sixty years, she was a devoted member of Nauraushaun Presbyterian Church.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Susan Sanchez of Pearl River, Karen Pfleging and her husband Edward of Oradell, New Jersey, Joan Rosenblum and her husband Jared of Pearl River, and Terence E. McLinskey Jr. and his wife Laura of Pearl River. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Anthony Sanchez, Katy Sanchez, Victoria Gsell and her husband Eric, Julia Pfleging, Alexandra Marini and her husband Matthew, Caroline Sullivan and her husband Matthew, Jillian Leary, Griffin Leary, Ryan McLinskey, Liam McLinskey, and Grace McLinskey, as well as her great-granddaughter, Sailor Marini. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Kathy McLinskey of Orient, New York, and Kathleen Schulz of Georgia, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Terence E. McLinskey Sr., her brother John Schulz, and her son-in-law Joe B. Sanchez. Dorothy will be remembered for her kindness, selflessness, humility, and her steadfast devotion to her family, her faith, and her community.
