Dorothy Marie Heim Gianaris

Dorothy Marie Heim Gianaris, age 91, of Erie, passed away on March 11, 2026, at St. Mary's at Asbury Ridge. Born on August 9, 1934, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Heim and Josephine Malinowski Heim.

Dorothy worked as a clerk at GE before devoting herself to her role as a homemaker. A longtime member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, she was known for her sharp wit and humor, but most of all for the deep love and affection she showed her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of many years, Peter N. Gianaris, in 2021, her sisters Catherine Osburn and Patricia Heim, and her brothers Elmer and Edward Heim.

Dorothy is survived by her son Nicholas P. Gianaris and his wife Heidi of Erie, her nephew Ronald Heim and his wife Erica of Pittsburgh, her niece Lisa Breitenbach and her husband Mark of Collegeville, Pennsylvania, her niece Renee Cudvat DeVito and her husband Mario of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, and many other nieces and nephews.
