Dorothy M. Petrosky

Dorothy M. Petrosky, 86, of Richland, passed away on March 14, 2026, at Windber Hospice. Born on March 18, 1939, in Cambria County, she was the daughter of William J. and Margaret E. (Boothman) Torak. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, William R. Torak.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of many years, Joseph T. Petrosky; her children, Faye Straw and her husband Gary of Richland, and Jeffrey Petrosky and his wife Denise (Schrader) of Richland; her grandchildren, John Petrosky and his wife Amanda, Mark Petrosky, and Katelyn Urquhart and her husband Ethan; and her great-grandchildren, Hayden Petrosky and Maisie Urquhart. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Sara Katz, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert and Kathryn Petrosky, and her sister-in-law Elizabeth Petrosky.

A lifelong cosmetologist, Dorothy owned and operated Dorothy’s Beauty Shop for more than 36 years. She cherished time spent with her family at Deep Creek Lake and took great joy in helping to raise her grandchildren. A longtime member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, she lived a life centered on family, faith, and quiet dedication to those she loved.
